Meet the team at Defence Car Connect with their experience and work history which is a combination of over 45 years in the automotive industry.

John Masters

In 1988 left high school and was a spare parts interpreter until 1990 when I joined the Australian Regular Army and became a member of the 5th/7th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment. I was lucky enough to go on operational deployment to Cambodia as part of the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia. Upon my return I also got to tour Malaysia as part of Rifle Company Butterworth. I enjoyed my service in the Defence Force and I am extremely grateful for the friendships that I hold dearly and still have today.

After leaving the Defence Force I began my career in the Automotive Industry which I have held positions in Senior Management roles for over 20 years. I have always made a commitment to both serving and ex-serving military members that I would look after them personally. I have since realised that there is more I can do to save you both time and money. So I have proudly Co-Foundered Defence Car Connect. Knowing every facet of the Car selling/buying process puts us on the right foot together and I assure you our service and experience will save you both time & money. This is why this service to you and your family members is absolutely FREE.

Thank you for taking the time out to look at Defence Car Connect and I do look forward to assisting you in any way possible with your next Vehicle purchase be it a New or Used vehicle.

Shaun McClelland

In 1986 at the age of 14 I started working part time. Saturday it was in a Spare Parts store and Sunday at a motorcycle wreckers. After high school I was employed by a Japanese Car Manufacturer in the head office representing Australia in a spare parts role. From here I ventured into the dealerships and held roles in Service and Spare Parts in management roles.

In 2000 I moved to London and worked in a dealership for an exotic car brand in service and parts whilst also providing assistance in car sales. When arriving back in Australia I pursued the sales role experience and learnt how the motor dealerships sell to the public. With roles in Fleet and corporate sales, car broking and salary packaging / novated leasing I have gained a broad depth of experience in a multi-faceted industry.

Now as a Director at Defence Car Connect, we look forward to combining our knowledge and talents to provide a premium long lasting service to the Australian Military personnel and passing on our knowledge and expertise to our clients, enabling them to save time and money when purchasing a new car.
